Touching upon countries in the region, Trump said, "We have also seen tremendous support from countries that are not in that region; they have really given great support. I think Turkey was wonderful, really wonderful. He is a great leader." Praising Indonesia as well, Trump added, "You understand who your friends are."
CLAIMS REGARDING IRAN
Trump also made assessments regarding Iran's role in the region. "Tonight, we are closer than ever to the birth of a Middle East that is finally free from Iranian terror. For 47 years, Iran was known as the bully of the Middle East, but they are no longer the bully," Trump said. He also made a claim regarding Iran's supreme leader, stating, "Iran's supreme religious leader is no longer supreme, he is dead. His son is either dead or very seriously wounded," though he provided no evidence.
QASSEM SOLEIMANI STATEMENT
Referring to Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in an assassination during his first term, Trump said, "He was such a powerful person that I think the Iranian leadership was extremely pleased when I eliminated him; but they don't say that openly. But no one will ask them that anymore, because they are not here either."
MILITARY POWER CLAIM
Touching upon the US military power, Trump stated, "Under my leadership, America is eliminating the threat posed by this radical regime and significantly weakening Iran's forces with 'Operation Epic.' We have, by far, the most powerful military in the world."
