US President Donald Trump has made a new statement regarding the plan aimed at reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In his statement to the US-based news site Axios, Trump noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hesitant about the ceasefire plan, stating, "I told Netanyahu, 'this is your chance for victory.' He didn't have a problem with it. He shouldn't anyway, he has no choice. You shouldn't have a problem with things when you're talking to me."
The US President touched upon Israel's attacks on Gaza, saying, "Netanyahu has gone too far in Gaza, and because of that, Israel has lost a lot of support around the world. Now, I will help regain that support."

In his statement, Trump also commended the efforts of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the plan in question. Trump stated, "President Erdoğan was very helpful in the process. He is a very tough person, but he is my friend and a wonderful person."
