Trump-Putin call concludes: First statement released

The phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the situation in Ukraine has concluded.

The first statement following the call came from the Russian leader, Putin. Speaking to the press, Putin stated that "a ceasefire with Ukraine is possible if the necessary agreements are reached."

Putin said he held a conversation with Trump that lasted more than 2 hours, describing the talk as sincere and meaningful.

Putin thanked Trump for his support in restarting direct negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
