Trump: Regime changes usually bring chaos, we do not want chaos

U.S. President Donald Trump made statements to reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling to The Hague, Netherlands, where the NATO Leaders Summit is set to take place.

Trump stated that Israel had halted its planned airstrike on Iran this morning and that the ceasefire remains in effect.

Trump said, "Israel turned its planes back this morning; they did not carry out the attack. This is a big deal. We are pleased with this. I can say the ceasefire is in place. I think we will maintain this for a long time."

Noting that he had spoken by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said, "I told him, 'enough is enough, turn your planes back,' and he did."

Observing that both sides have avoided escalating tensions following his social media post, Trump remarked, "Both Israel and Iran are tired of this. No one wants to do this again. Thanks to my post, no one died." Stating that he is not considering sanctions on either country due to the violations, Trump argued that diplomacy had prevailed.

"THEY SHOULD BE A TRADING NATION"

Emphasizing that Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances, Trump said, "The last thing on the Iranians' minds right now is a nuclear weapon. We know they will not enrich uranium. They should be a trading nation now. They already have vast oil reserves."

"WE DO NOT WANT CHAOS"

When asked if he wanted regime change in Iran, Trump replied, "No, we do not. We want everything to calm down quickly. Regime changes usually bring chaos, we do not want chaos. Iranians are good businessmen. They should rebuild their country." Reiterating his long-standing position that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons, Trump added, "Other than that, I want Iran to be well."

"OUR PILOTS DESTROYED THE NUCLEAR FACILITIES"

Regarding the US strike on nuclear facilities in Iran, Trump said, "Our B-2 pilots destroyed the nuclear facilities. However, fake news channels like CNN are questioning the success of the operation. They are saying, 'We might not have destroyed the facility enough.' This is disrespectful to me."

"IRAN-LINKED CELLS MAY HAVE INFILTRATED THE US"

Trump alleged that Iran-linked cells might have infiltrated the US during the administration of former US President Joe Biden, stating, "We will overcome this situation. They cannot scare us."

Commenting on the energy market, Trump said, "Oil prices dropped by nearly 10 dollars yesterday. I made a post supporting this decline. There will be less conflict. Our Department of Energy is doing a good job. We will keep oil prices low by drilling more."

At the end of his speech, Trump noted that he was departing for the NATO Summit, adding, "I am now heading to the NATO meeting. We will deal with other types of problems there."
