Trump signs executive order cutting support for gender transition for those under 19

In a written statement from the White House, it was announced that Trump signed an executive order aimed at the "Protection of Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation."

The executive order stated that "across the country, medical professionals are mutilating and sterilizing an increasing number of children under the radical and false premise that a child can change their gender through a series of irreversible medical interventions."

The order noted that this trend will remain a "stain on the history" of the American nation and stated that it must be brought to an end.

The executive order declared, "Accordingly, it is the policy of the United States to not fund, support, encourage, or assist in the so-called transition of a child from one gender to another, and to rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures."

With the executive order, which uses the term "child" to define those under 19, federal funding that contributes to gender transition for these individuals has been halted.
