Trump speaks with Chinese President

US President Donald Trump announced that he held an "excellent" phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping, stating that they discussed Taiwan, the Russia-Ukraine War, Iran, and China's purchase of oil and gas from the US.

US President Donald Trump spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping over the phone. In a statement regarding the call, Trump said, "I had an excellent phone call with Chinese President Xi. It was a long and comprehensive conversation."

Trump announced that during the call, they discussed the economy, defense, his upcoming visit to China in April, as well as Taiwan, the Russia-Ukraine War, Iran, China's purchase of oil, gas, and soybeans from the US, aircraft engine deliveries, and many other topics.

Stating that the meeting went very positively, Trump said, "Our relationship with China and my personal relationship with President Xi are extremely good, and we both know how important it is to maintain this situation. I believe that many positive results will be achieved regarding President Xi and the People's Republic of China over the next three years of my presidency."
