Trump warns of World War III
Former United States (US) President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has claimed that Ukraine's advance into Russian territory could lead to a world war. Trump stated, "Look at what's happening in Ukraine. They're moving into Russian territory. We're going to have a World War III."

Speaking at the National Guard Association of the United States conference in Detroit, Trump argued that the current chaos in many parts of the world began with the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
"THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY"
Describing the day the US withdrew from Afghanistan as the most embarrassing day in American history, Trump said this development triggered conflicts all over the world. Emphasizing that the shame of the withdrawal from Afghanistan destroyed trust in the US, Trump said, "That's why Russia went into Ukraine. That's why the October 7 attack in Israel happened. That's why we're not respected. We're not respected."
Trump said, "We should have withdrawn with dignity and strength. Bagram Air Base should never have been left. It is one of the largest air bases in the world, an hour away from where China produces nuclear weapons. We left it, we left everything. China took it over. It is now under Chinese control, can you imagine that?"
"IT BECAME ONE OF THE LARGEST ARMS DEALERS"
Emphasizing that the US left behind 85 billion dollars worth of weapons and military equipment in Afghanistan, Trump said, "Do you know that Afghanistan has become one of the largest arms dealers in the world? They are selling the weapons we foolishly left behind. We left behind 85 billion dollars worth of new tanks, planes, and even binoculars. They couldn't fight at night because they didn't have night-vision capabilities. Now they can. It's impossible to believe. These people who allowed such a thing to happen to our country are fools. We have become a laughingstock all over the world."
WARNED OF WORLD WAR III
Trump said, "The whole world is in chaos. If something isn't done quickly, we will be facing World War III. Because of nuclear power and other existing capabilities, this won't be like previous world wars either."
Claiming that Ukraine's advance into Russian territory could lead to a world war, Trump said, "Look at what's happening in Ukraine. They're moving into Russian territory. We're going to have a World War III."
Emphasizing that he prevented wars and kept American soldiers from harm during his presidency, Trump recalled that he ordered the withdrawal of 5,000 American soldiers on the Turkey-Syria border. Trump said, "I called one of our generals and asked if 5,000 soldiers could serve a good purpose when there was an army of 400,000 on one side and 300,000 on the other. They said, 'It won't be good, sir.' I told them to withdraw them immediately."
"WE HAVE NO AMMUNITION LEFT"
Stating that the US has given all its ammunition to other countries, especially Ukraine, and has run out of ammunition, Trump said, "We have no ammunition left. We had so many missiles that we didn't know if we could use them all. We were organizing new warehouses because all of our warehouses were full. Now we have reached a point where we have no ammunition left again."
Emphasizing that the US is trying to cover the deficit created by other countries in NATO with its defense spending, Trump said that during his presidency, he would insist that NATO member countries spend at least 3 percent of their gross domestic product (GDP) on defense. Trump said, "Our allies must bear their fair share of the burden. All NATO member countries that spend much less than 2 percent of their GDP on their militaries are putting our forces in a difficult position. We are the ones paying for the deficit, we are the ones helping. I will insist that every NATO member country spend 3 percent to eliminate threats."
