Trump warns of World War III in meeting with Macron: 'Very bloody and brutal'

US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron met at the White House. Emphasizing his efforts to end the war in Ukraine before the meeting, Trump said, "We have come a long way in a short time, just a few weeks. If we act smartly, I think the war in Ukraine could end soon, within weeks. President Macron has also been very helpful in this process."

Touching upon trade relations between the US and France, Trump stated, "We have a special relationship with France and we want to maintain it for many years."

"SECURITY GUARANTEES WILL BE PROVIDED"

Addressing security guarantees for Ukraine, Trump noted that Europe would play an active role in this process, saying, "I am confident that Europe will take steps to ensure Ukraine's security. Once an agreement is reached, the war will end and everyone will return to their own business."

"I WILL MEET WITH ZELENSKYY"

Trump also stated that he would hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy soon, saying, "I will meet with President Zelenskyy. He might even come this week or next week to sign an agreement." Trump expressed his expectation that Ukraine would sign an agreement with the US regarding rare underground minerals.

"THE WAR IN UKRAINE COULD TURN INTO WORLD WAR III"

Warning that the war in Ukraine could lead to a larger global conflict, Trump said, "This war is very bloody and brutal. Thousands of people are dying every week. If it is not brought under control, it could turn into World War III. And we will not let that happen."

"PUTIN WILL AGREE"

Stating that European countries could step in to maintain peace in Ukraine, Trump said, "Russian President Vladimir Putin will agree to a European peacekeeping force serving in Ukraine after the war ends. Many European countries, including France, could take on a role in this regard."

"WE DEMAND THE SAME"

Touching on trade with Europe, Trump praised Europe's financial support for Ukraine and stated that the US would also continue its economic contribution. Trump also mentioned that they are working on trade tariffs with the European Union based on the principle of reciprocity, saying, "Whatever Europe demands from us, we demand the same from them. It is a completely reciprocal situation."

ECONOMIC RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA

Addressing potential economic cooperation with Russia, Trump said, "Russia has a large amount of rare earth elements and other resources. If we can cooperate, it would be very good for world peace and lasting stability."

"IT WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR UKRAINE TO REGAIN LOST TERRITORIES"

Responding to a question about the war in Ukraine, Trump said, "It will not be easy to regain lost territories. However, it may be possible to get some regions back as a result of negotiations."

"OUR COMMON GOAL IS LONG-TERM PEACE"

French President Macron, noting that the war in Ukraine is entering its third year, stated, "Our common goal is a solid and long-term peace." Praising the courage and resistance of the Ukrainian people, Macron added, "There must be strong guarantees for peace to be achieved."

Emphasizing that the US and France have always been on the "right side" throughout history, Macron stated that Europe would also be involved in the process as a stronger and more reliable partner. Macron noted that they support the idea of using Russia's frozen assets for the reconstruction of Ukraine. Stressing their continued commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity, Macron said, "We will address this issue as part of the negotiation process."
