Regarding the Syrian leader, US President Donald Trump said, "The President of Syria is working very hard; he is a very strong and tough person." Regarding developments in Syria, he stated, "The Kurds were paid a very large amount, and they were provided with oil and many things. They were doing what they were doing for themselves. We got along well with the Kurds and we are trying to protect the Kurds."
As he concluded his press conference at the White House, Trump said, "I will have a conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whom I like very much."
