Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that he has to support electric vehicles due to Elon Musk's support for his campaign for the November 5 elections.
Speaking at a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, Trump evaluated the support given to him by the US billionaire Elon Musk. Trump said, "I'm for electric cars. I have to be, because Elon endorsed me very strongly. So I don't have a choice."
Musk, the owner of companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and X, had previously stated that he had donated to Trump's presidential campaign, but that these donations were at a "much lower level."
Trump had previously described the support given to electric vehicles by US President Joe Biden as a "transition to hell."
