Trump's dream of an award is coming true

This award was designed to honor "individuals who help unite people in peace across the globe." The winner will be announced at the draw ceremony to be held in Washington D.C. on December 5.

In FIFA's statement, Infantino made the following remarks:

"In an increasingly restless and divided world, it is essential to recognize the extraordinary contributions of those who make great efforts to end conflicts and bring people together in a spirit of peace."

Infantino added, "Football represents peace, and through the FIFA Peace Award — Football Unites the World, we will recognize, on behalf of the entire football world, the great efforts of individuals who bring people together and carry hope for the future."

FIFA's statement noted that the award will be given to "individuals who have performed extraordinary and exceptional acts for peace, uniting people around the world, and who therefore deserve special recognition."

This announcement came ahead of a separate meeting Infantino is set to hold with U.S. President Donald Trump as part of the America Business Forum in Florida.

Trump will celebrate the anniversary of his re-election at this forum, which will be attended by business leaders and figures from the sports world, and will deliver a speech detailing the economic achievements of his term. Infantino is also scheduled to take the stage on the same day.

ACCORDING TO FOREIGN PRESS, THE AWARD WILL BE GIVEN TO TRUMP

Many media outlets have claimed that the FIFA Peace Award will be given to Trump. Despite being the boss of football, Infantino was by Trump's side at the Gaza summit. In a statement during the summit, Infantino said, "President Trump has certainly played a very important role in the process. Without him, there would be no peace. President Trump broke down barriers, built bridges, and established connections. Other countries such as Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Bahrain, and Jordan also contributed to this effort."

Infantino has been a strong supporter of Trump since his first term. After the U.S. was selected to host the World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada, FIFA opened an office in Trump Tower.

The Swiss-Italian official was among those calling for the American president, who played a key role in halting the conflicts in Gaza, to be awarded the 'Nobel Peace Prize'.

Infantino also allowed Trump's daughter, Ivanka, to participate in the Club World Cup draw, and Ivanka became part of an educational program run by FIFA.

The pair's relationship is causing concern among other FIFA members. According to a report in 'The Guardian', UEFA accused the FIFA president in May of prioritizing his private political interests with Trump over world football.
