In a statement following the cancellation of the customs tariffs, Trump said the following:
"The decision they made is wrong. But it doesn't matter, because we have very strong alternatives. Moreover, these alternatives have been approved along with this decision," he said.
US President Donald Trump said regarding the US Supreme Court's cancellation of the customs tariff practice, "The decision is extremely disappointing. Foreign countries are very happy, but I assure you they will not remain happy for long."
Following the Supreme Court decision, Trump announced that the current "national security" tariffs would remain in effect and that he would implement new tariffs within his legal authority, stating, "Today, I will sign a decree regarding a 10 percent global tariff in addition to the existing tariffs."
