Trump's remarks on Iran following attempted armed attack! New footage of the moment of the attack and its aftermath emerges

An armed attack on the White House Correspondents' Association event, held at a hotel in Washington with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump and members of his cabinet, caused chaos. New footage of the attack, which sparked widespread panic, and the subsequent events has emerged.

The footage shows the armed attacker running rapidly and firing at a Secret Service agent at a security checkpoint before being neutralized shortly thereafter. While the moments of panic following the attack were captured on camera, it was noted that Trump and his accompanying cabinet members were quickly placed within a security perimeter and evacuated from the scene.

Among those attending the dinner was Erika Kirk, the wife of Charlie Kirk, who lost his life in an armed attack at an outdoor event on September 10; Kirk was seen crying and saying, 'I want to go home' while accompanied by security forces.

U.S. President Donald Trump held a press conference at the White House following the armed attack. Describing the attack as "unexpected," Trump stated that the intervention by the Secret Service and law enforcement was extremely effective.

Stating that the attack targeted an event aimed at protecting freedom of expression, Trump said, "A man, armed with multiple weapons, attacked the security checkpoint and was neutralized by the brave members of the Secret Service. An officer was shot at very close range with a very powerful weapon, but he survived. The bulletproof vest he was wearing worked. I just spoke to that officer and he is in very good condition. He is quite proud of the duty he performed."

SECURITY MEASURES AND NEW PRECAUTIONS

Stating that all details of the incident are being investigated, Trump emphasized that the building where the attack took place did not have private security, saying, "The building where the incident occurred was not a building with private security. I didn't want to say this, but this is the reason for all the changes we are planning at the White House. This is why the Secret Service is requesting measures such as bulletproof glass and resistance to drone (UAV) attacks."

The U.S. President stated that there is a need for higher security measures in the country and called for social unity.

“WE MUST RESOLVE OUR DIFFERENCES PEACEFULLY”

Trump said, "However, in light of the incident that occurred this evening, I ask all Americans to be determined to resolve our differences peacefully. We must overcome our differences. I must say; there were Republicans, Democrats, independents, conservatives, liberals, and people of different views there. There was tremendous love and unity. I watched it and I was very, very impressed by it. However, the First Lady and I were very well protected and were removed from there very quickly. Vice President James David Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio experienced the same thing. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth was also there. Pete didn't want anyone to help him at first, but then he received some help."

ATTACKER'S IDENTITY AND INVESTIGATION

Stating that according to initial findings the attacker lived in the state of California, Trump said, "Security units are currently going to the apartment where he lived. This attacker is a sick person. We don't want such things to happen. Still, it was a very beautiful evening. The event was truly intended to expand freedom of expression and keep the rights envisioned by our constitution alive. We will hold this event again within the next 30 days. So I want to thank everyone who contributed. I also want to thank the press for the way they reflected this incident. You acted quite responsibly in your reporting."

“I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE GUNSHOT AT FIRST”

Answering journalists' questions, Trump described what he experienced when he heard the gunshots, saying, "It is always shocking when something like this happens. It has happened to me a few times and this feeling never changes."

Stating that he did not understand the incident at first, Trump said, "When I heard a noise, I thought it was a tray falling to the ground. It was a very loud sound. Also, it was coming from quite far away. The attacker had not infiltrated the hall where the event was held; because they caught him red-handed. He was quite far away, but it was a weapon and some people realized this quite quickly, while others did not. I was looking around to understand what was happening. I probably should have ducked even faster. I think Melania was aware of what was happening and understood immediately. She was saying, 'That's a bad sound.' We were rushed away very quickly with other people, and I say again, I thought the performance of the Secret Service and the police, all law enforcement, was really very good."

EVENT WILL BE HELD AGAIN

Trump stated that there would be no changes to their event programs despite what happened, saying, "Then you would never hold any events, that's impossible."

Expressing that there is no clear information regarding the attacker's motivation, Trump suggested that the incident might be a "lone wolf" act.

“THOSE TARGETED ARE INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE”

In response to a question about the attacks against him, Trump said, "Those who do the most work, those who cause the greatest impact, are always the ones who are pursued. They don't go after those who don't do much. Because that suits their interests. Whether it's an assassination attempt or a successful assassination, when you look at the people targeted, you see that they are very influential people. Just look at the names. Those targeted are big names. And I don't like to say that I'm honored by this, but I have achieved a lot. We have achieved a lot. We took over this country, which had been a laughingstock for years, and now we are the most popular country in the world. We changed this country and there are many people who are not happy about this at all."

PRAISE FOR SECURITY FORCES

Evaluating the intervention of law enforcement, Trump said, "I think they were very impressive. I thought they were very impressive. You know, if I didn't think so, I would say it openly."

“THERE WAS NO INTELLIGENCE”

Stating that no threat intelligence was received before the attack, Trump said, "I think so. I mean, these people are crazy. You never know what will happen. He was very far from me. There were many obstacles he had to overcome. We had officers everywhere. We had officers in plain clothes at the tables, maybe they were even sitting at your table. So he had a long way to go. They really caught him at the first line of defense. We did not receive any notification or intelligence beforehand. We had no idea."

When asked if the attack had an international connection, Trump replied, "I don't think so, but you never know. The best people in the world in their field are working on this. We will learn many things."

Pointing out the risks of the presidential duty, Trump said, "I can't imagine any other profession more dangerous than this, but I love the country and I am very proud to perform this duty."

IRAN POLICY AND TARGETING DEBATE

Touching on his policies towards Iran, Trump said, "And I said, 'We will have to take a trip to Iran. If we don't do this, they will have a nuclear weapon.' We neutralized them with B-2 bombers. In my first term, I terminated the Obama deal, which was a complete disaster, that is, the Iran nuclear deal. This was a path to a nuclear weapon for Iran. If they had it, they would use nuclear weapons one hundred percent. So, you know, when you do things like this, you become a target. If I weren't doing these things, I think I would be much less of a target, but I am honored by it."

STATEMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND THE FBI

Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the suspect would be tried on charges such as armed attack and possession of firearms, and that the investigation is ongoing.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated that ballistic evidence at the scene is being examined, witness statements are being taken, and it is being investigated whether the attacker acted alone. Patel asked those with information about the incident to contact the FBI line.
