Trump's Tesla gesture to Elon Musk

U.S. President Donald Trump, in a show of support for his senior advisor and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, announced he would purchase a Tesla vehicle, stating, "This guy has dedicated his energy and his life to doing this, and I think he has been treated unfairly."

U.S. President Trump appeared before cameras alongside Musk and posed with Tesla vehicles brought to the White House lawn.

Noting that he does not normally drive, but would purchase a vehicle to emphasize his support for Musk, Trump said, "I'm going to buy one because, first of all, it's a great product, as good as it gets. Second, this guy has dedicated his energy and his life to doing this, and I think he has been treated unfairly."

The U.S. President emphasized that allegations of violent acts against Tesla dealerships would be classified as "acts of domestic terrorism" and would result in severe consequences for the perpetrators.

Selecting a red Tesla Model S from a fleet parked at the White House, Trump sat inside the vehicle and posed for cameras.

Trump said, "I'm going to buy one now. The bad news is, I'm not allowed to drive because I haven't driven in a long time. I love to drive, but I will use it at the White House and let my staff use it. I'm not allowed to drive."
