Tsunami warning in Russia following 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Japan
A tsunami warning has been issued by the Ministry in Russia's Sakhalin region due to the earthquakes that occurred in Japan.

Japan's western region was struck by 5.7 and 7.4 magnitude earthquakes, leading to a tsunami warning in Russia's Sakhalin region.
In a statement from the Sakhalin Ministry of Emergency Situations, it was noted that the western parts of Sakhalin could be affected by tsunami waves.
WARNING TO SEEK SHELTER AT 30-40 METERS HEIGHT
The statement reported that the warning system has been activated in certain areas and that the population in these locations has begun to be evacuated to safe areas.
Stating that equipment to mitigate the consequences of tsunami waves is ready, the statement included the following: "Everyone located on the coastal parts of the Tatar Strait must immediately leave the coast and take shelter at a height of 30-40 meters above sea level."
Earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.7 at a depth of 10 kilometers and 7.4 at a shallow depth occurred off the coast of the Noto Peninsula in Japan's Ishikawa Prefecture at 16:06 and 16:10 local time, respectively.
Following the earthquakes, a tsunami warning had been issued across the region.
