Turkish Airlines to open Damascus route: Syria strictly rejects those two countries

Turkish Airlines is launching flights between Istanbul and Damascus on January 23, 2025. Citizens of Iran and Israel will not be accepted on the flights, which will operate three times a week.

Turkish Airlines has announced that it will begin flights to Damascus on January 23. Making a statement on his social media account, Bilal Ekşi said, "We are returning to Damascus. We are starting Damascus flights with 3 flights per week on Thursday, January 23. Best of luck."

 

According to information obtained from the THY website, the first Damascus flight will be operated on Thursday, January 23, at 09:00 from Istanbul Airport with a wide-body Airbus A330-203 type aircraft. Direct flights will be organized from Istanbul Airport to Damascus International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 09:00 in the morning.

Return flights from Damascus Airport to Istanbul Airport will also be carried out on the same days at 13:00.

WHICH COUNTRY'S CITIZENS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED?

On the other hand, it was stated in the announcement that Iranian and Israeli citizens cannot be transported to Damascus.
