Two major earthquakes strike Taiwan

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that two earthquakes occurred south of the city of Hualien on Taiwan's east coast.

The earthquakes, which were recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers with a 6-minute interval, were measured at magnitudes of 6.1 and 6.

According to initial reports, there were no casualties or property damage caused by the earthquakes.

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake had occurred in Taiwan's Hualien city on April 3.

Taiwan's Central Weather Administration had announced the magnitude of that earthquake as 7.2 and stated that it was the strongest earthquake to hit Taiwan in the last 25 years.
