Two more train accidents in Spain! There are dead and injured

While Spain is trying to overcome the effects of the major disaster that occurred after two high-speed trains collided and derailed, new railway accidents have occurred in the country.

According to information shared by authorities, a train traveling on the R4 commuter line near the town of Gelida, near Barcelona, lost control and derailed after a retaining wall along the tracks suddenly collapsed due to heavy rainfall.

TRAIN DRIVER LOST THEIR LIFE, AT LEAST 37 PEOPLE INJURED

While numerous medical teams were dispatched to the scene, it was reported that the train's driver lost their life. It was stated that at least 37 passengers were injured in the accident.

4 OF THE INJURED ARE IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Gelida Mayor Lluis Valls stated that four of the injured are in life-threatening condition, and six people are seriously injured. Stating that the other passengers were only slightly affected, Valls emphasized that the fact that the accident did not occur in a more densely populated area reduced the potential loss of life. Valls said, "Despite the tragedy, if the accident had occurred at a point closer to Barcelona, the results could have been much more severe."

STORM ALSO CAUSED A SECOND ACCIDENT

Railway operator Adif announced that another train traveling between the Blanes and Macanet-Massanes stations in the Girona region also derailed. It was noted that rocks falling onto the tracks due to the storm disrupted the train's balance, and it was announced that the 10 passengers on board escaped the accident without injury and that services on the line were temporarily suspended.

42 PEOPLE HAD LOST THEIR LIVES

Spain was recently shaken by the collision and derailment of two high-speed trains. In that accident, at least 42 people lost their lives and more than 100 people were injured. Following the incident, a three-day national mourning period was declared across the country.
