Two public employees detained on suspicion of 'leaking state secrets'
The Dutch Public Prosecution Service announced that two public employees, one working for the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) and the other a police officer, have been detained on suspicion of "leaking state secrets."

In a written statement from the Public Prosecution Service, it was stated that a 64-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were detained on October 26, 2023, on suspicion of possessing and disclosing information classified as state secrets.
The statement noted that the 64-year-old male suspect, who lives in Rotterdam, worked for both the NCTV and the National Police Unit within the Dutch police, while the woman, who lives in the city of Gouda, was a former NCTV employee who had recently joined the police force.
SEARCHES CONDUCTED IN MANY LOCATIONS
The statement emphasized that the suspects, who are being held for 14 days under a court order and are subject to a series of restrictions, are only permitted to speak with their lawyers.
Stating that no further information will be provided at this stage for the security of the investigation, the statement reported that searches were conducted in many locations as part of the investigation.
SUSPECTED OF LEAKING INFORMATION TO MOROCCO
In a report by the AD newspaper titled "Translator and analyst working at counterterrorism agency suspected of leaking state secrets to Morocco," it was alleged that the suspects are suspected of passing information to the Moroccan government.
The report stated that the 64-year-old male suspect, who worked as a translator and analyst at the NCTV, had access to sensitive files in the police's Counterterrorism, Extremism and Radicalization Department (CTER).
