An ugly attack was carried out on 9 mosques in France. Pig heads were left in front of 9 mosques in the capital, Paris.

Authorities stated that the name of French President Emmanuel Macron was written on 5 of the pig heads, but did not disclose who or which groups were responsible for the attacks.

The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office stated that an investigation into the incidents has been launched.

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau stated in his remarks, "I want our Muslim citizens to be able to practice their faith in peace. We cannot ignore the parallels with previous actions that usually took place at night and were proven to be foreign interference," noting that they cannot rule out the intervention of foreign powers to destabilize his country during this period when France is facing a financial and political crisis.

In France, synagogues and a Holocaust memorial were vandalized with green paint last May, and three Serbs accused of being linked to a "foreign power" were arrested in connection with the incident. France is known as the country with the largest Muslim population in Europe, with more than 6 million Muslims.

According to the 2024 report by the French National Consultative Commission on Human Rights, racism is on the rise in France. According to Interior Ministry records, 181 anti-Islamic acts were carried out between January and June 2025. This corresponds to an 81 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
