UK decides to hold 'emergency' summit for Ukraine tomorrow: Erdoğan among those invited

Leaders of European countries will gather in London to evaluate developments in Ukraine and discuss steps toward the peace process. Many European leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will attend the summit hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
In a statement issued by the British Prime Minister's Office, it was stated that the primary goal of the summit is for Europe to demonstrate a unified stance supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and security. In addition to leaders from countries such as Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Czechia, and Romania, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen have also been invited to the summit.
The statement from the British Prime Minister's Office included the following expression:
''This summit aims to demonstrate Europe's unified and resolute support that secures Ukraine's sovereignty and security.''
President Erdoğan is also among those invited to the summit. In his meeting with Zelensky last week, Erdoğan noted that Turkey supports the preservation of Ukraine's territorial integrity. Turkey is expected to be one of the countries that will mediate between Russia and Ukraine.

To end the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, European countries are proposing the deployment of a peacekeeping force to the region under US guarantees. While the UK and France support this proposal, it has been reported that the Washington administration has not yet approved this plan.

It has been learned that the US administration has not yet given a positive response to the peacekeeping force plan proposed by Europe. The Trump administration has not made a statement regarding how the talks will proceed after Zelensky left the meeting.
During the dispute between Zelensky and Trump, US Vice President JD Vance accused the Ukrainian leader of wanting to continue the war. In response to Vance, Zelensky said that his country did not start the war.

Turkey has been among the countries that have taken on a mediating role since the beginning of the Ukraine crisis. It is estimated that at the summit, to which President Erdoğan has also been invited, Turkey will provide information regarding its experiences and diplomatic efforts in the region.
