UK Foreign Secretary Cameron: 'Our support for Israel is not unconditional'

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, in a statement following the Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip that killed 7 aid workers, including 3 British nationals, said, "Our support is not unconditional. We expect such a proud and successful democracy to abide by international humanitarian law, even when challenged."

Reactions from around the world continue to pour in following Israel's attack on 7 employees of the World Central Kitchen (WCK) working in the Gaza Strip.

Because 3 British nationals were among those killed, the attack also drew a reaction from the UK.

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron wrote in his column for The Sunday Times, the UK's largest newspaper, that support for Israel is not unconditional.

Cameron stated, "Our support is not unconditional. We expect such a proud and successful democracy to abide by international humanitarian law, even when challenged."

Touching upon the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, Cameron warned that the risk of mass starvation could emerge if Israel does not allow more aid.

Cameron noted that the United Kingdom's most important focus since October 7 has been "support for the hostages and their families."
