Ukraine launches drone attack on Moscow: Russia retaliates
Russian officials announced that three people were killed and 17 injured in what they described as the largest drone (UAV) attack by Ukraine on Moscow and its surrounding areas. While it was stated that the attack targeted a meat warehouse, it was also announced that four airports in Moscow were briefly closed. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a total of 343 UAVs were downed, with 91 destroyed in the Moscow region and 126 in Kursk.

The dawn drone attack occurred just before peace talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia. Experts pointed out that the attack took place at a time when Russian forces are attempting to encircle thousands of Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin noted that this was the largest UAV operation targeting Moscow and its surroundings.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that preventive measures taken protected Moscow and other regions. The Russian Ministry of Defense, meanwhile, alleged that Ukraine targeted civilian infrastructure. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that oil facilities in the Moscow and Oryol regions were hit during the overnight drone attacks.
According to RT News, the Kyiv administration claimed that the capital was targeted by a ballistic missile and 126 UAVs on Tuesday. The Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Russian Parliament, Andrey Kartapolov, argued that Moscow should strike Ukraine with the 'Oreshnik' hypersonic missile in retaliation. The Oreshnik is known as the most advanced strike missile currently in existence.
RUSSIAN ARMY STRIKES UKRAINE
It was alleged that Russia carried out a large-scale operation in retaliation for Ukraine's attack on Moscow. It was stated that seven people lost their lives in the attack on Ukraine. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba announced that four of those who died were Syrian citizens. Additionally, it was reported that the Ukrainian army withdrew from the Kursk region and the Russian flag was hoisted in Sudzha.
It was announced that an infrastructure facility was targeted in a Russian attack in Dnipro, causing a fire and injuring one person. The Governor of Dnipro noted that a 47-year-old woman was killed in an attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih. Kuleba pointed out that Russia is attacking Ukraine's infrastructure and the ports that ensure food security.
Ukraine stated that it repelled 116 bombs and 2,285 drone attacks during 74 air raids conducted by Russia. It was reported that a total of 98 Russian UAVs were downed, 5 of which were destroyed in Kyiv. It was also reported that two people were killed and seven others were injured in attacks on the Sumy and Kherson regions.
