UN Palestine Rapporteur Albanese calls out Netanyahu: 'You are lying'
The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine described Netanyahu's statements regarding Lebanon as 'a lie'.

United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on Palestine Francesca Albanese reacted to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statement that no targets other than Hezbollah were being struck in Lebanon. Albanese described this as 'a lie' and criticized Netanyahu and Israel.
Addressing the claim that the Israeli army is only targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon, Albanese made a statement on her X social media account, saying, 'Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese know you are lying.'
Quoting the post in question, Albanese wrote, 'Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese know you are lying. Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese know that the Israeli leadership is as unscrupulous as it is eager to spread genocidal violence across the region to maintain its power and advance its settler-colonial agenda.'
Albanese noted that, like the Palestinians, the Lebanese might also be wondering if much of Israeli society is too hurt, traumatized, or brainwashed to see any alternative to living in a state of perpetual war, adding, 'Like the Palestinians, the Lebanese might also be wondering why you are not yet in The Hague (to be tried).'

DEATH TOLL RISES IN LEBANON
Since the morning hours, the Israeli army has carried out hundreds of airstrikes on Lebanon, targeting southern cities as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 492 people, including 35 children and 58 women, were killed in the attacks, and 1,645 people were injured.
A wave of displacement continues from the southern regions of the country toward the capital, Beirut, and the north.
While the Lebanese Ministry of Education announced that education has been suspended nationwide, the Ministry of Interior announced that schools in the south of the country have been opened to shelter citizens displaced by the Israeli attacks.
