Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of Palestine to the UN, spoke at a UN Security Council session addressing the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.
Criticizing the UN Security Council for failing to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and failing to end Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, Mansour said, "We have all failed. This council has failed."
Mansour stated, "We can continue to count aid trucks, talk about routes, and imagine alternatives, but the only true measure of our success is our ability to alleviate people's suffering.
The suffering of Palestinians is Israel's goal and desire.
Whatever solutions you find, they will continue to fail as long as Israel does not change its course. The first and indispensable step is an immediate ceasefire."
