UNSC adopts resolution on Gaza. US and Russia abstain

The UN Security Council has adopted a resolution demanding "urgent steps" for the safe and unhindered delivery of expanded humanitarian aid in Gaza.

It was reported that the US and Russia abstained during the critical vote on the resolution at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The vote had previously been postponed three times.

Israeli forces continue their indiscriminate attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip. Increasingly painful news continues to emerge from the region. The scale of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, where tens of thousands of civilians—mostly women and children—have been killed, is heartbreaking. Under heavy bombardment, the people of Gaza are also struggling against hunger and epidemic diseases.

It is reported that the humanitarian aid supplies entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Border Crossing do not even meet 2 percent of the need.
