Urgent call from Israeli War Cabinet member Gantz

Following US President Joe Biden's announcement of a new proposal for a ceasefire and hostage deal in the Gaza Strip the previous day, all eyes have turned to the region.

Israeli War Cabinet member Benny Gantz has called for the cabinet to convene as soon as possible to discuss the proposal announced by Biden yesterday, which he stated originated from Israel.

In a statement from Gantz's office, it was stated, "The US, under the leadership of President Biden, has consistently proven its commitment to Israel's security and efforts for the return of hostages, just as it has since the beginning of the war. We are grateful to the President and all our American friends for their support."

"TO DELIBERATE ON THE NEXT STEPS..."

The statement further added, "As the State of Israel, we are united in our desire to bring the hostages back. This is a supreme moral obligation that does not diminish our determination to achieve the goals of the war based on 6 principles."

According to the statement issued by the office, Gantz noted that Israel is "committed to advancing an arrangement for the return of the hostages, as formulated by the negotiating team and unanimously approved by the war cabinet, as part of a broader effort to achieve all the goals of the war." 

Gantz emphasized that the war cabinet "should meet as soon as possible together with the negotiating team to deliberate and formulate the next steps."
