Ursula von der Leyen re-elected as European Commission President
The European Parliament has decided to extend Ursula von der Leyen's term as President of the European Commission for a second term.

In the vote held in Strasbourg for the European Commission Presidency, von der Leyen received the support of 401 members of the European Parliament, securing 40 votes more than the required majority to be re-elected as President of the European Commission.
Von der Leyen, from the center-right European People's Party (EPP), was first elected in 2019. She will now serve at the helm of the EU for another five years.
