The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' seizure of the Portuguese-flagged container ship "MSC Aries," owned by the Zodiac Group belonging to Israeli billionaire businessman Eyal Ofer, has prompted US National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson to issue a call to "release the ship immediately."
While an Iranian attack on Israel is expected, the Revolutionary Guard Corps' seizure of an Israel-linked ship near the Strait of Hormuz today has drawn reactions from Western countries.
In a statement, US National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson called on Iran to "immediately release" the Portuguese-flagged container ship "MSC Aries," which is owned by Israeli billionaire businessman Eyal Ofer's Zodiac Group.
Watson stated, "Seizing a civilian vessel without provocation is a flagrant violation of international law and an act of piracy by the Revolutionary Guard Corps."
