US aircraft carrier deployed to the Middle East
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) has been deployed to the Middle East.

CENTCOM shared photos of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) on its social media account.
The post stated, "Sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) perform routine maintenance while underway in the Indian Ocean on January 26."
The post further noted that the aircraft carrier is currently deployed in the Middle East "to support regional security and stability."
CENTCOM's post comes at a time when reports have appeared in international media suggesting that the US is preparing for a new attack against Iran.
