Tom Barrack, the US Ambassador to the Republic of Türkiye and Special Envoy for Syria, announced that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Syrian President Ahmed al-Şara have agreed on a ceasefire accepted by Türkiye, Jordan, and other neighboring countries.
In a statement posted on his social media account, Barrack said:
"A groundbreaking development: US-backed Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Syrian President Ahmed al-Şara have agreed on a ceasefire also accepted by Türkiye, Jordan, and their neighbors.
We call on the Druze, Bedouins, and Sunnis to lay down their arms and, together with other minorities, build a new and unified Syrian identity in peace and prosperity with their neighbors."
