US and Russia begin talks in Riyadh to normalize relations
The US and Russia have begun critical talks in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to normalize relations and end the war in Ukraine. High-level officials from both countries are participating in the meetings.

Following a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin last week, delegations from both countries have met in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
HELD BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
The Russian delegation includes Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Kremlin Foreign Policy Advisor Yury Ushakov, and Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO Kirill Dmitriev, while the US delegation includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio, White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
The Russian delegation is expected to hold a press conference at the conclusion of the meeting, which is being held behind closed doors.
