4-hour US attack on Iran! Tehran's retaliation was swift

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have reached a new level following the downing of a US military Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had carried out strikes against Iran in self-defense. The statement noted, "This operation is a proportionate response to Iran's unprovoked aggression."

Iranian media reported that explosion sounds were heard in the city of Sirik in Hormozgan province. Explosions were also reported on Qeshm Island and in Bandar Abbas.

US President Donald Trump stated to ABC, "It is very important to respond. They shot down a helicopter and we are currently retaliating."

CENTCOM ANNOUNCES END OF OPERATION

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a statement early in the morning that the operations launched against Iran had been completed. It was noted that various military targets were struck during the attacks, which lasted approximately four hours.

The statement indicated that "Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radar facilities near the Strait of Hormuz" were targeted with precision-guided munitions launched from US Air Force and Navy fighter jets.

CENTCOM's statement further added, "This operation was a proportionate response to recent attacks against US forces and international commercial vessels transiting the region's waters."

IRAN'S MOVE AGAINST US BASES IN THE REGION

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps also announced that some American bases in the region were targeted following the US attacks.

In the statement, it was claimed that 21 targets at US naval and air bases in the region were struck. It was stated that the US 5th Fleet in Bahrain was first targeted with unmanned aerial vehicles, followed by missile attacks on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

The statement claimed that four key targets, including hangars housing F-35 fighter jets, were destroyed in the attacks in Jordan.

The Iranian side also argued that the US attacked various points under "false pretenses," reporting that two water tanks were hit in Sirik and a communication tower was damaged.

Meanwhile, Iran announced that a US MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in the southern province of Bushehr.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM TRUMP

US President Donald Trump, posting on his Truth Social account, stated that the pilots in the Apache helicopter were in good condition and that the US was forced to respond to the attack.

In his post, Trump said:

"I have just received information from our military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly advanced Apache helicopters patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots involved; both are safe and uninjured. However, the United States is compelled to respond to this attack."

SUCCESSIVE MESSAGES FROM TEHRAN

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made a notable post on his social media account following Trump's statements.

Ghalibaf stated, "We prefer the language of diplomacy, but we speak other languages much more fluently. If you do not keep your promises, we will switch to the language we speak best. You ride the horse you saddle."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in his assessment of the matter, did not address whether the helicopter was shot down by Iran, but stated that foreign military elements around Iran are at risk.

In his statement, Araghchi said, "The best solution to reduce risk is for them to withdraw," and referring to Ghalibaf's words, added, "We prefer the language of diplomacy, but we also speak other languages."

CURRENT SITUATION IN THE REGION

The US military's AH-64 Apache attack helicopter was downed near the Strait of Hormuz.

The incident occurred at a time when tensions in the region were beginning to subside following mutual attacks between Israel and Iran.

In recent months, it has been noted that the US military has been operating closer to Iranian-controlled islands and the Iranian coast. While negotiations between Washington and Tehran regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz continue, military activity in the region persists.

The Iranian administration, while stating that they are prepared for a possible military conflict, argues that calm in Lebanon is one of the key elements of existing agreements.
