Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip have been ongoing for 172 days.

US State Department Spokesperson Matt Miller, addressing Israel's planned military operation against the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip, stated that the operation would harm the flow of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip through Rafah.

Miller said, "We believe that such an operation would harm Israel's national security. It will further isolate Israel in the world.

It will separate Israel from countries that have long been its partners. We are clearly stating that such an operation is not in Israel's interest."
