US grant aid to Armenia doubled: $250 million

The US has increased its grant aid to Armenia through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) from $120 million to $250 million.

According to a written statement from the Armenian government, a document signed by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and USAID Mission Director for Armenia John Allelo increased the grant amount to $250 million and expanded the areas of joint cooperation projects.

CYBERSECURITY, REGIONAL COOPERATION, TRADE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

With the amendment to the grant agreement between USAID and Armenia, the grant aid, which has been increased to $250 million, will cover key areas such as disaster risk management, cybersecurity, food and energy security, regional cooperation and trade, democratic reforms, and economic development.

'WE ARE HELPING ARMENIA GROW'

Allelo stated, "This amendment demonstrates our commitment to our partnership with Armenia. By increasing our support and expanding our programs, we are helping Armenia grow and succeed."

The amount of US aid to Armenia within the specified scope was previously $120 million.
