US independent candidate Kennedy: Biden blocked peace deal between Ukraine and Russia

As the countdown continues for the US presidential election on November 5, independent presidential candidate Kennedy announced at a press conference in Phoenix that he is withdrawing from the race and will support Trump. In his speech, Kennedy explained why he would support Trump, criticizing the Biden administration particularly for its policy on the war in Ukraine.

Arguing that the US "provoked" Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kennedy said, "I'm not excusing Putin's invasion of Ukraine, he had other options. But the American media doesn't really tell the American people that we unilaterally withdrew from two nuclear arms treaties and that we put nuclear missile systems in Romania."

Explaining that the war in Ukraine began in 2014, Kennedy stated that at that time, the US overthrew the democratically elected government to bring a pro-Western figure to power, followed by bloody operations against ethnic Russians.

Noting that the US withdrew from the Minsk Agreement in 2019, Kennedy said, "In April 2022, Biden sent (then-British Prime Minister) Boris Johnson to force Zelensky to tear up a peace agreement that had already been signed with Russia. That peace agreement could have brought peace to the region. President Biden actually stated that goal and said the purpose of the war is regime change (in Russia)."

Emphasizing that the publicly stated goals of the war in Ukraine have nothing to do with US national interests, Kennedy said, "Ukraine is a victim of the West in this war."

Stressing that he is strongly opposed to the US entering "endless wars" such as the war in Ukraine, Kennedy stated that Trump is determined to end this war, adding, "Trump says he will restart negotiations with Putin to end the war as soon as he takes office; that alone is enough to justify my support for his campaign."
