US intelligence: Iran could withstand Hormuz blockade for months
A Washington Post report includes details from a CIA analysis regarding how long Iran could endure a US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to an analysis prepared by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), it is argued that Iran could withstand a US naval blockade for at least three to four months without facing severe economic difficulties.
Regarding the analysis presented to the US government, the report stated, "According to four people familiar with the document, this finding raises new questions about (US President) Donald Trump's optimism regarding ending the war."
The CIA analysis included the finding that the Tehran administration has "maintained significant ballistic missile capabilities" despite US and Israeli bombardment.
The report also cited a US official as stating that Iran still possesses approximately 75 percent of its mobile launch ramps and about 70 percent of its missile stockpiles.
According to the official, Iran has saved "almost all" of its underground storage facilities and has been able to repair some damaged missiles.
President Trump said at a press conference at the White House yesterday regarding Iran, "Most of their missiles were destroyed, probably 18, 19 percent left, but very little compared to what they had."
Using the phrase "like a wall of steel" for the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump had also claimed a day earlier that the Iranian economy was showing a "collapse" trend, its currency was "worthless," and it was "unable to pay" its soldiers' salaries.
