The US Department of State has issued a global security alert for citizens traveling abroad, urging them to exercise increased caution due to the risk of terrorist attacks, violent incidents, and protests.

In a statement released by the department, it was noted that citizens should remain vigilant against potential terrorist attacks, mass demonstrations, and acts of violence that could target US citizens and the country's interests abroad.

Citizens were urged to closely monitor their security situation before and during their travels and to regularly check official warnings and announcements. Additionally, it was recommended that they enroll in the US Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to ensure rapid communication in the event of a potential emergency.
