US military: Iran is using civilian ports in the Strait of Hormuz for military activities
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has alleged that Iran is using civilian ports in the Strait of Hormuz for military activities, calling on civilians to stay away from port facilities where Iranian naval assets are located.

As joint US and Israeli attacks on Iran continue, CENTCOM has alleged that the Iranian Navy is deploying military vessels and equipment to civilian ports that serve international maritime shipping.
The statement said, "CENTCOM warns civilians that the Iranian regime is using civilian ports along the Strait of Hormuz to conduct military activities that threaten international shipping.
This dangerous action puts the lives of innocent civilians at risk. Civilian ports used for military purposes lose their protected status and become legitimate military targets under international law."
Regarding potential attacks that could be carried out against or near the ports, the statement said, "While the US military cannot guarantee the safety of civilians at or near facilities used by the Iranian regime for military purposes, American forces will continue to take all possible measures to minimize harm to civilians."
CENTCOM also called on civilians in Iran to stay away from all port facilities where Iranian naval assets are present. The statement added, "Iranian port workers, administrative staff, and commercial ship crews should stay away from Iranian naval vessels and military equipment."
