Following the US military's announcement that it had launched strikes, Iranian media reported that sounds of explosions were heard around Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as in the cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik, and Chabahar and Konarak in Sistan and Baluchestan province. The US military stated, "We have launched strikes against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in Iran."
