While Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip continue unabated, ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas are ongoing with the mediation of the US, Qatar, and Egypt.
A US official stated today that “Israel has accepted a 6-week ceasefire in the region,” adding that “now it is up to Hamas to accept it.”
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also stated that efforts would continue to make this accepted ceasefire permanent in the region.
