US oil rig count declines

According to weekly data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes, the number of oil rigs in the country fell by 3 to 506 during the week of March 25-29 compared to the previous week.

The number of oil rigs in the US has decreased by 86 over the last year.

The price of a barrel of Brent crude, which closed Thursday at $85.41, did not trade on Friday as oil markets were closed for the Easter holiday.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil finished Thursday at the $81.35 level.
