Open threat from the US to Israel: 'We will withdraw all support'

The bill regarding the annexation of the West Bank, which has been brought to the agenda in the Israeli Parliament, has caused a reaction within the US administration. While the bill has sparked debates within Israel, warnings have come one after another from Washington.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Israel's initiatives in this direction could jeopardize President Donald Trump's efforts to achieve peace in Gaza. Rubio warned, "The annexation plan could harm the peace process."

"THEY CANNOT DO THIS"

US President Donald Trump, in his statement regarding the vote in the Israeli Parliament, said, "That is not going to happen. It won't happen because I gave my word to the Arab countries. They cannot do this. We have received great support from the Arabs."

Trump sent a clear warning to the Tel Aviv administration with the words, "If Israel does such a thing, it will lose all US support."

This statement was evaluated as one of the harshest rebukes directed at the country by Trump, who was previously referred to as a "hero" in the Israeli Parliament.

SUCCESSIVE WARNINGS FROM RUBIO AND VANCE

The statements from the Trump administration were not limited to this. While Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that the plan for the annexation of the West Bank "could endanger peace in Gaza," Vice President J.D. Vance issued a similar warning.

Vance said, "President Trump would absolutely not support such a plan."

MESSAGE OF RETREAT FROM ISRAEL

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, in his statement regarding the discussions, stated that the plan was only submitted for a "preliminary vote." Sa'ar said, "This bill will not proceed in parliament without the official support of the government."

Stating that the plan is only at the reading stage, Sa'ar said, "We are committed to Trump's peace plan and are doing our best to implement it. However, Hamas is not complying with this plan."

CEASEFIRE FREQUENTLY VIOLATED

The ceasefire declared after the war that has been ongoing in Gaza for over two years has been violated repeatedly. In the region where clashes and explosions have resumed, the parties have held each other responsible for violations in the first phase of the agreement.

During this process, some Israeli hostages were exchanged for Palestinian prisoners, the bodies of deceased hostages were returned, and Israeli troops partially withdrew.

THE TOLL OF THE WAR HAS BEEN HEAVY

The clashes that began after Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, lasted for two years.

According to Israel, 1,200 people lost their lives in the attacks. According to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 68 thousand people have lost their lives in Israel's air and ground operations.
