Operation from the US against Iran: Qeshm Island targeted

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement regarding operations conducted following Iran's attempted attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain. Stating that Iran had targeted US allies in the region, the statement said, "US forces have successfully neutralized numerous Iranian ballistic missiles and UAVs in response to Iran's attempted attacks across the Middle East, and have conducted self-defense strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island."

CENTCOM reported that two Iranian missiles headed toward Kuwait failed to reach their targets, falling out of range or breaking up in mid-air. It was reported that three missiles launched at Bahrain were destroyed through the joint intervention of US and Bahraini air forces.

OPERATION CONDUCTED ON QESHM ISLAND

The statement further noted that three one-way attack UAVs, which were said to be targeting civilian maritime traffic in the region by Iran, were shot down. CENTCOM included the statement, "American forces also conducted a self-defense strike on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island."

While it was stated that no US soldiers were harmed during the operations, it was added, "CENTCOM will remain vigilant against Iran's unprovoked aggression during the ongoing ceasefire process."

RESPONSE TO CLAIMS OF ATTACKS ON US BASES

In another statement, CENTCOM addressed claims by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that it had struck the US 5th Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain and a US air base in the region with missile and UAV attacks.

The statement read, "All of Iran's attacks against American forces have failed."
