The US prepares to send 10,000 more troops to the region!

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) is planning to increase its military presence in the Middle East. According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon is considering sending up to 10,000 troops to the region in parallel with ongoing diplomatic negotiations with Iran.

AIMING TO STRENGTHEN MILITARY PRESENCE

Pentagon officials state that this step will be taken to increase the military presence in the region in order to strengthen Washington's hand in the negotiations.

According to the report, the Pentagon has evaluated the deployment of approximately 10,000 additional troops to provide President Donald Trump with broader military options. This reinforcement will be deployed in the Middle East alongside the approximately 5,000 marines previously planned for deployment and thousands of soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division.

LOCATION OF TROOPS STILL UNCLEAR

However, no information was shared regarding which countries or bases the reinforcement troops would be deployed to. In her statement on the matter, Deputy White House Press Secretary Anna Kelly emphasized that official announcements would be made by the Pentagon and that all military options are always available to President Trump.

REINFORCEMENT DEPLOYMENT FROM THE 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION

Previous reports had also suggested that the US military planned to deploy approximately 3,000 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, known as the "rapid response force," to the region. It was stated that these units would be used to strengthen the existing military presence on the ground.

US President Donald Trump stated that the negotiations being conducted with Iran are progressing positively. Trump announced that potential military operations, including those targeting Iran's energy infrastructure, have been suspended until April 6.
