US President Joe Biden has signed an executive order imposing sanctions on illegal Israeli settlers who commit violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

According to a written statement from the White House, US President Biden signed the executive order prepared for those who undermine security in the West Bank.

US CITIZENS WILL BE PROHIBITED FROM DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE INDIVIDUALS

With this decree, illegal Israeli settlers who have recently committed violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank will be subject to sanctions by the US administration.

Those included on the sanctions list will be unable to conduct transactions within the American financial system, will be ineligible for visas to the country, any assets they hold in the US will be frozen, and American citizens will be prohibited from doing business with them.

In his statement on the matter, Biden noted that they took this step to ensure that security and stability in the West Bank are not undermined, and that acts of violence against Palestinians in the region are unacceptable.

THEY HAVE BEEN INCLUDED ON THE SANCTIONS LIST

A White House official, who held a background briefing on the subject, reported that 4 individuals, whose names were not disclosed, have already been included on the sanctions list under the scope of the decree.

Since October 7, 2023, at least 381 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
