Former US President Donald Trump made significant statements to reporters at Palm Beach International Airport.

Emphasizing that the war between Russia and Ukraine was a crisis that should have been prevented from the beginning, Trump stated that they are making efforts for peace. When asked if a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is planned, he replied, "No time is set, but it could be very soon."

Stating that he believes Putin wants the war to end, Trump said, "I think (Putin) wants to stop it. I see that." Drawing attention to Russia's military power, Trump used the expressions, "They defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon. You know, they've been fighting for a long time. They've done this before," highlighting Russia's historical war experiences. However, he noted that he believes Putin now wants to give up fighting.

“IT WOULD BE A BIG PROBLEM IF PUTIN CONTINUED”

Responding to the question of whether Putin has any intention of taking over Ukraine completely, Trump said, "I think he wants to stop. That was the question I asked him. Because if he were to continue, that would be a big problem for us. It would be a big problem for me, too. Because you can't allow that. I think he wants to finish it."

Trump also stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shares similar thoughts, saying, "They both want to finish it quickly. Zelenskyy wants to finish it too."

While these statements by Trump contain important clues regarding the course of the war, what steps the leaders of Russia and Ukraine will take remains a subject of curiosity.
