US President Joe Biden targets Trump in first rally
Launching his campaign for the November 5 presidential election in the state of Pennsylvania, US President Joe Biden described former President Donald Trump as a "major threat to American democracy" in his first speech.

US President Joe Biden spoke at an event held in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, marking the 3rd anniversary of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot and the launch of his election campaign.
"A MAJOR THREAT TO US DEMOCRACY"
Targeting Trump with harsh words, Biden described the former US president, who is expected to be his opponent in this year's election, as a "major threat to American democracy."
In his speech, Biden referred to the day of the January 6 Capitol riot by saying, "We almost lost America entirely that day," and continued, "We all know who Trump is, the real question is who are we?"
Emphasizing that this year's presidential election will be a test for democracy, Biden called on voters to support him, stating, "Democracy is on the ballot, your freedom is on the ballot."
Arguing that Trump is responsible for the Capitol riot, Biden stated that the American people will decide who to entrust with the office in the November 5 election by looking through this lens.
Claiming that Trump lost numerous lawsuits after 2020 and was wrong on many issues he defended politically, Biden said, "Trump lost cases even in states controlled by Republicans. He also lost before the US Supreme Court. The legal reality is that I won the election, and he lost."
While Biden is expected to be the Democratic nominee in the 60th US presidential election to be held on November 5, Trump appears to be leading by a very wide margin among Republican primary candidates.
