US President Donald Trump addressed participants at the summit held in Davos as part of the World Economic Forum (WEF). In his speech, Trump made assessments on many topics ranging from the US economy to the situation in Europe.
“THERE WAS STAGFLATION DURING THE BIDEN ERA”
Referring to the previous period in his speech, Trump made the following remarks:
“During the Biden era, America was dealing with stagflation. The exact opposite is happening during my term. We are doing the right things, people are happy with me. A year ago, under the administration of radical left-wing Democrats, we were a dead country.”
“US ECONOMY IS GROWING ABOVE EXPECTATIONS”
In his assessment of the US economy, Trump drew attention to IMF forecasts:
“The US economy is growing at twice the rate predicted by the IMF. We will grow faster than international forecasting funds anticipate. The world falls with us and rises with us. We received 18 trillion dollars in investment in just one year.”
CRITICISM OF EUROPE
Continuing his speech with criticism of Europe, Trump said, “Europe is not in a good state right now. Europe is unrecognizable. I do not find its trajectory right. Mass migration has caused great harm to the European continent.”
Touching upon the change in the US, Trump stated, “Our country was being destroyed before our eyes, and our leader could not even comprehend what was happening. The US has started a transformation it has not seen in 49 years.”
“VENEZUELA WILL MAKE A LOT OF MONEY IN THE NEXT 6 MONTHS”
Stating that the South American country will become a better place following the detention of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by his own order, Trump said, “20 years ago, Venezuela was a wonderful country, it is not anymore, but we are helping them. In the long run, Venezuela will be a great country. We are in very good cooperation so far. Venezuela will make a lot of money in the next 6 months.”
“HOW STUPID WE WERE TO GIVE GREENLAND BACK TO DENMARK”
“Wind turbines are ruining everything. We are close to the world of nuclear energy. Electricity prices in Europe are at absurd levels. Wind turbines are causing losses. I haven't seen a single wind turbine farm in China. They have wind turbines, but they use coal. They sell these to stupid people,” said US President Donald Trump, who then said the following regarding his insistence on Greenland:
“We want Europe to be strong. Do you want me to say a few things about Greenland? Actually, I was going to keep this out of my talk, but let me say it.”
“I have great respect for the people of Greenland and Denmark. No country other than the US should own Greenland. No country other than the US can keep Greenland safe. We saved Greenland in World War II and gave it back to Denmark. How stupid we were.”
“We don't need Greenland's rare earth elements. The reason we want Greenland is not rare earth elements. It is in a very strategic area between the US and China. We shouldn't have given it back after World War II.”
“WE WANT TO BUY GREENLAND”
Emphasizing that they want to buy Greenland, the US President said, “We want to buy Greenland. This should not be a threat to NATO. This is a step that will strengthen NATO.”
“WE WILL NOT USE FORCE TO TAKE IT”
Announcing that they will install an air defense system in Greenland, Trump said:
“It will also protect Canada. Canada receives too many services from us for free. They don't reciprocate. If it weren't for us, Canada wouldn't exist. We will be 100 percent behind NATO, but I doubt they will be behind us. We want a piece of ice to protect the world, but they won't give it. We didn't ask for anything else from you. They have a choice. They can say yes, and we would be very, very grateful to them. Or they can say no, and we won't forget that.”
“WE BUILT THE IRON DOME IN ISRAEL”
Stating that they built the Iron Dome in Israel, Trump recalled a conversation he had with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and spoke as follows:
“I told Bibi (Netanyahu): 'Stop taking credit for the success of the Dome, this is our technology.' We did this for Israel.”
“THOSE WHO STOLE THE VOTES WILL BE PROSECUTED”
Saying “The Russia-Ukraine War should never have started,” Trump claimed that Biden won the 2020 US Presidential Election through fraud and said:
“As you know, my votes were stolen in the previous US Presidential Election and I lost. They will be prosecuted, you will see. We need a fairer press.”
“I AM TALKING TO BOTH PUTIN AND ZELENSKY TO END THE WAR”
Stating that he continues to hold talks with both Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to end the ongoing war in Russia and Ukraine, Trump said, “I am talking to President Putin, and he wants to make a deal. I believe that. I am also talking to President Zelensky, and I think he wants to make a deal too. I will meet with him today.”
“THE US KEEPS THE WHOLE WORLD AFLOAT”
Addressing the world leaders in the hall, US President Donald Trump said, “The United States keeps the whole world afloat. Looking at the people in this small region, I can suggest 6-7 places,” and added, “If it weren't for our military, you would face threats you wouldn't believe.”
