Flash decision from US President Trump: He fired 12 names

According to a report by The Washington Post citing unnamed sources, US President Donald Trump has fired 12 independent inspectors general working in federal agencies without prior notice.

Inspectors general working in agencies such as the Departments of Defense, State, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Energy, Commerce, and Agriculture, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Small Business Administration, and the Social Security Administration, learned that their duties were "terminated immediately" via email.

It was noted that many of these inspectors were individuals who had been appointed during the previous Trump administration.

According to information from the Congressional Research Service, if an inspector general is to be removed, the President must notify Congress in writing at least 30 days before the removal or transfer, including detailed and specific reasons for the action.

On the other hand, no statement regarding the matter has been made by the White House.

One of the dismissed inspectors general described the situation as "a massacre."

Stating that Trump will appoint loyalists to the vacated positions, the inspector general noted that this situation will harm the entire system.

Another inspector whose duty was terminated used the expression, "The new administration does not want to see anyone in this position who will work independently."

Senator Elizabeth Warren, in a post on the social media platform X, stated, "Inspectors general are tasked with rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in government and preventing misconduct. President Trump is eliminating checks on his own power and paving the way for widespread corruption."
